Summary

If you're looking to relax around town after a long ride, the Sunrise Adventure is the ride for you. Based in Alpena, MI, Sunrise allows riders to take in the lighthouses and quiet beaches of Lake Huron.

Description

Alpena, the Sanctuary of the Great Lakes. Slow down the pace, or grind out the miles, at Sunrise Adventure you can do either (or both!). Miles of quiet roads, shipwrecks just offshore, the Maritime History Museum and the annual wooden boat show kindle a spirit of adventure. Cycle your choice of several routes of different lengths that will lead you past historic lighthouses and down forested roads. Enjoy a glass-bottom boat cruise to see some of the 200 shipwrecks lying just off the Lake Huron coast. Kayak the beautiful inland waters of Thunder Bay River. Leave your worries behind as you relax in Alpena's peaceful downtown. The whole family will enjoy cycling and sightseeing during the Sunrise Adventure!

Optional Extras
Enhance your ride with these cool additional options, available from the registration page:

Meal Options - Explore the downtown Alpena restaurant scene! Riders may now purchase the desired number of meal vouchers: either breakfast, dinner, or both. These vouchers can then be redeemed at participating restaurants in downtown Alpena.
T-Shirt Upgrade - Upgrade your complimentary cotton t-shirt to a moisture-wicking tech fabric one. Your skin will thank you when you're riding under the hot sun!
Sunrise Adventure Jersey - Jerseys ordered through the registration form will be waived all shipping fees and will be available for pickup upon check-in in Alpena. They will also be available at the LMB merchandise table throughout the ride while supplies last.
VIP Glass Bottom Shipwreck Cruise - Come enjoy an afternoon on the water at Sunrise Adventure with our 4 PM cruise on Saturday afternoon. You'll spend a little over 2 hours viewing Lake Huron shipwrecks in Thunder Bay, capturing their images through the glass bottom and enjoy a lovely onshore reception afterward with beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and hors d'oeuvres.
